Arbor Research Collaborative for Health (Arbor Research) recently welcomed Dr. Ping Yu, as Chief Growth Officer. In his new role at Arbor Research, Dr. Yu will lead the Strategic Growth Team (SGT) to further expand Arbor Research’s growth initiatives.
Dr. Yu brings a wealth of experience in health data, analytics, research, and evaluation, with a distinguished career spanning close to 40 years in the contract research arena. Previously creating and overseeing Booz Allen’s social science research practice as its Principal, Dr. Yu played a pivotal role in driving strategies to expand capabilities across health, especially in data science, analytics, research, and evaluation. Dr. Yu has designed and executed evaluations for healthcare quality improvement programs for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and has developed innovative methodology and advanced analytics to help Federal Government agencies and other clients drive their mission and assess their programs’ return on investment. His leadership extends to multiyear, multimillion projects for clients such as CMS, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Notably, he led the CMS Independence Evaluation Contract (IEC) and conducted significant studies for SAMHSA in the behavioral health domain.
Before his tenure at Booz Allen, Dr. Yu directed the Substance Abuse Research and Evaluation Group at Battelle Memorial Institute, where he also collaborated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences in the Joint Center for International Research. His diverse background includes work in support of the pharmaceutical industry with technical expertise in surveys, statistics and demography, business development, pricing, and project management.
Dr. Yu holds a Ph.D. in Demography from Cornell University, an M.A. from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in American Studies from Canton University of Trade and Foreign Languages.
